Hi!

I’m Kristin Dwyer, the critically acclaimed author of

SOME MISTAKES WERE MADE and THE ATLAS OF US!

I love stories and storytellers. As someone who has been involved with this community for over ten years, I’ve watched stories go from ideas into New York Times best sellers.

I love helping people find the unique center of their stories. The thing that makes the story resonate with a reader and keeps them turning the page. I want writers to feel confident that when a reader turns to the last page, they went on a complete emotional journey with characters that felt like friends.

I love romance, friendship, tropes, and brave storytelling that is imaginative.

How do you know if I’m a good fit to help you?

I recognize that not every editor is for every person. I want to be helpful. My goal is not to find the story I want to read, but to help you with the story that you want to tell. My specialties are in emotion, romance, character, emotional motivation, internal characterization, and dialogue. I love plot, pacing, and big-picture edits.

I want to help you to create a more intimate narrative through voice and emotion. Help you put the reader into the head of your main character. Help you make your sex scenes deeper and your romance make the most impact. I want to help you see where you can make your emotional arc mirror your plot arc.

If this sound like something you’re interested in, I would love to hear from you!

I am opening services up for next month and I am really excited to work with y’all!

Why you should trust me.

  • "Kristin Dwyer is the person I go to when I need help with my romance, when I can’t figure out my character’s motivation, or when I’m struggling with writing the emotion in a scene. Kristin‘s knowledge of storytelling is tremendous and it really shows when she reads a manuscript. She is excellent at understanding what a person is trying to achieve with their story and then helping them get there. I often feel as if she knows my characters better than I do. I can’t recommend her editing highly enough."

Stephanie Garber, #1 New York Times best selling author.

  • “Sharing your words with other people and getting an outside perspective on your story can be a vulnerable experience. I’m often hesitant with sharing my own work, but getting critique from Kristin has truly been invaluable in my revision process. Her feedback on my chapters have been insightful, encouraging and enthusiastic. She’s an emotion and romance GENIUS and my manuscript is infinitely stronger after having her eyes on it. She has helped me rediscover the love I have for my story and I truly cannot recommend her enough!”

    Alexa Lach, Romance Author

  • “If you’ve ever hear Kristin Dwyer critique or talk about books, then you know she understands story in her MARROW. This is such a brilliant opportunity for writers.”

Eva Des Lauriers, author of upcoming YA romance I WISH YOU WOULD, 2024

  • “Kristin loves to break down story and talk about characters and wounds and arcs and the entirety of craft. I’m amazed at her ability to pinpoint what a story is about and then help direct what it needs to do to get there. Benefited from her feedback and even more so from her support. I’m thrilled she’s offering up the service.”

Susan Lee, International author of Seoulmates and The Name Drop

  • “Kristin Dwyer is a brilliant storyteller, and having had her eyes on much of my work, I can tell you that her notes are thoughtful, insightful, and always spot-on. She has such a deep understanding of craft and story, and if you’re looking for critique services, I cannot recommend her enough.”

Rachel Griffin, New York Times Best Selling author of The Nature of Witches, Wild is the Witch, and Bring Me Your Midnight

  • I’m going to be real here. My biggest weakness as a writer is writing emotion. Thankfully, I have Kristin Dwyer in my pocket and her insight, guidance, and suggestions on what my own characters are feeling is astounding. Somehow, she always intuits what I’m trying to say, even if my words are clumsy, or too on the nose. I highly recommend her take on all the feels. Your story will be the better for it.

Grammar is my nemesis. Punctuation is invisible to me. Spelling is a suggestion.
